To work with you to achieve YOUR purpose:
In a market which has opened up to many opportunities, and competitors, we help you decide where your focus should be for your business.
Running an organisation profitably, in order to make a positive impact on society, puts you in competition with both charities and for-profits...
Facing competition for ‘doing good’ from other charities AND for profits businesses, we help you focus on how best to generate income...
I am both a lawyer and a management consultant. I qualified as a solicitor with Mills and Reeve in 1991, as a commercial litigator specialising in environmental law. I then realised I was more interested in the business of the law, rather than the practice of it, so I left practice and gained my MBA in 2000. I then headed the Business Law Team at the then Oxford Institute of Legal Practice, preparing postgraduates for training contracts in City Firms. In 2003, I left to fully focus on setting up Firm Beliefs.
I designed and delivered the Lexis Nexis 'Management Skills for Lawyers' programme. Through the Ministry of Defence Training Academy, I designed and delivered a module on International Human Resource Management - for those operating in countries at war, in peace and in emerging economies.
I was one of the founder members of the Finance Against Trafficking project for Stop the Traffik, have been a trustee of 3 charities (Rimbaud and Verlaine, the Womens Farm and Garden Association, TocH) and continue to volunteer my time for those charities who cannot afford paid support.
I have a backgrounding in accounting and project management. I have worked for various services organisations over the years and have dealt with all types of customer and client – putting them at the heart of what the organisation does.
I work closely with Firm Beliefs clients, and with our Associate Consultants, to ensure that all working relationships run well and are managed effectively
We are not for everyone. And everyone is not for us. It is like any business relationship. We choose who we work with as carefully as we are chosen by our clients.
We do not charge by time - we like to get to know you first so that we can work out what you hope/need to achieve from our collaboration. Then we fix a price based on the value to you, not on the time it takes us to do it. That means we don't give hourly rates, day rates or quick quotes. There are plenty of consultants who will but that is not our way.
